15.06.09Manchester City has confirmed that the opening game of their three-match summer tour of South Africa will be played in Polokwane as part of the Vodacom Challenge tournament. The team is also due to play in Durban and Pretoria during the week-long tour.
The 18 July meeting (kick off at 15h00) with Orlando Pirates is to take place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, which will host four games during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™.
The sporting complex was named after the late Peter Mokaba, a political activist during apartheid who was born in Polokwane and renowned for being an inspiring leader.
